- 2 c. sifted plain flour
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 1/3 c. fat
- about 3/4 c. milk
Directions

1Sift flour, baking powder, and salt together.

2Cut or rub in fat until well blended.

3Slowly mix in milk, using just enough to make dough that is soft but not sticky.

4Turn dough onto a floured board and knead a few strokes.

5Roll or pat to 3/4 inch thickness. Cut with a biscuit cutter or cut into squares with a knife. Place on a baking sheet and bake at 450° about 15 minutes. Yields:
