Ingredients
- 3 eggs, well beaten
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 1/2 c. sifted flour
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/4 lb. chocolate drops
- 2 c. coarsely chopped black walnuts
- 1 c. coarsely cut up dates
- 1 c. candied cherries, halved
Directions

1Combine eggs and sugar; beat well.

2Sift dry ingredients together.

3Add nuts, dates and cherries.

4Fold into egg mixture being sure it is mixed well so there are no dry spots.

5Pour into a loaf pan that has been greased and lined with waxed paper.

6Bake about 1 1/2 hours in 325° oven.

7Cool on rack before turning out. Keep tightly wrapped as it dries out rather quickly.

8A dip of vanilla ice cream enhances the taste.
