Bison Chili

Ingredients

  • 1 to 2 lb. ground bison
  • 2 medium onions, finely chopped
  • 46 oz. tomato juice
  • 1/2 to 1 (46 oz.) can water
  • 1 (31 oz.) Brooks hot chili beans
  • 1/2 c. hot salsa or 1/2 c. ketchup
  • 4 Tbsp. chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic salt (optional)
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • cooked spaghetti

Directions

    In large kettle, fry onions in small amount of margarine, then add ground bison.

    Cook until almost done.

    Combine all ingredients and simmer for 10 to 20 minutes.

    Serve with crackers or toast bison cut-outs, cucumber slices and carrot sticks. Freeze in 14 to 16 ounce containers.

    Heat for 5 to 7 minutes in the microwave.
