  • 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
  • 1 unbeaten egg
  • 1/3 c. sugar
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. (6 oz.) semi-sweet morsels
  • 1 1/2 c. sifted flour
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/4 c. cocoa
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. water
  • 1/3 c. cooking oil
  • 1 tsp. vinegar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • chopped nuts

Directions

    Combine in mixing bowl the cream cheese, egg, sugar and salt; beat well.

    Stir in semi-sweet morsels.

    Sift together flour, sugar, cocoa, soda and salt.

    Add water, oil, vinegar and vanilla to flour mixture and beat until smooth.

    Fill cupcake pans 1/3 full of chocolate batter.

    Top each with a heaping teaspoon of cream cheese mixture.

    Sprinkle with sugar and chopped nuts.
