- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 2 c. milk, scalded
- 4 beaten egg yolks
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 (6 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate pieces
- 1 (10-inch) baked pastry shell
- 1 envelope unflavored gelatin
- 1/4 c. cold water
- 4 egg whites
- 1/2 c. sugar
Directions

1Combine the 1/2 cup sugar, cornstarch and beaten egg yolks. Slowly add to scalded milk.

2Cook and stir in double boiler (or heavy pan) until custard coats a spoon.

3Remove from heat; add vanilla.

4To 1 cup of the custard, add the chocolate pieces and stir until melted.

5Pour into bottom of cooled, baked pastry shell. Chill.
