Blackberry Jam Cake

  • 1/2 c. butter or margarine
  • 2/3 c. sugar
  • 1 c. flour
  • 2/3 c. blackberry jam
  • 2 Tbsp. sour cream or milk
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 tsp. soda
  • 2/3 c. raisins

Directions

    Cream butter; add sugar.

    Beat in jam and nutmeg.

    Dissolve soda in 1 tablespoon water and add to sour cream, then add this to eggs which have been beaten.

    Add to butter-sugar mixture, then mix with flour.

    Sprinkle small amount of flour over raisins and stir in.

    Bake in 350° oven in small loaf pan until done, about 30 minutes.

    May be frosted or left plain.
