  • 2/3 c. butter
  • 1 c. jam
  • 1 c. sour milk
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. cloves
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 3 eggs (beaten egg whites)
  • 3 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/3 tsp. salt

Directions

    Cream butter and sugar.

    Add jam to egg yolks.

    Mix together. Add sifted dry ingredients alternately with sour milk.

    Fold in beaten egg whites and vanilla.

    Bake in 3 layer greased and floured cake pans in 350° oven. Use boiled frosting for filling and on top of cake.
