- 2 onions, minced
- 2 bay leaves
- 2 sprigs fresh thyme or a pinch of ground thyme
- 1/2 tsp. cayenne
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
Directions

1Put all ingredients and 4 cups water in kettle. Bring to boil and then simmer, covered, 2 hours or until tender. Serve plain or deep-fry.
