Boiled Custard

Ingredients

  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1 sprinkle salt
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 egg white, beaten until very stiff
  • vanilla to taste

Directions

    Mix together the egg yolk, milk, salt and sugar and cook in top of double boiler over simmering water until mixture will coat a silver spoon.

    Gradually pour hot milk mixture over egg white and stir to mix.

    Add vanilla to taste.

    Serve cold.
