- 2 c. self-rising flour
- 1/3 c. Crisco
- 2 tsp. confectioners sugar, sifted
- 2 tsp. baking powder, sifted
- 1 c. buttermilk
- melted margarine (for tops)
Directions

1Mix dry ingredients.

2Cut in Crisco until it becomes crumbly. Add buttermilk; stir with wooden spoon.

3Put on floured board; pat out with hands.

4Cut with biscuit cutter, small or large.

5Bake at 400° until biscuits have begun to brown.

6Slip out of stove and brush quickly with margarine.

7Return to oven; bake until brown enough.

8Butter again if you like.

9Bake at 400° on a cookie sheet.
