- 9 empty soup cans, greased or Pammed
- 1 box raisins (1 lb.)
- 2 tsp. soda
- 2 c. boiling water
- 2 tsp. butter
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 2 well-beaten eggs
- 4 c. plain flour
- 1 c. chopped pecans
Directions

1The night before baking, mix raisins, soda, boiling water and butter and let stand covered.

2Add remaining ingredients the next morning and mix well.

3Fill cans 1/2 full.

4Bake at 350° for 1 hour.

5Cool until you can handle.

6Remove bread from cans and cool.

7Roll in plastic wrap and refrigerate or can be frozen. Excellent with cream cheese spread or butter.
