  • 1 1/4 c. dates
  • 3/4 c. nuts
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 c. flour

Directions

    Chop dates and nuts.

    Put into bowl with butter and baking soda and pour over 1 cup boiling water.

    Let stand until cool. Beat eggs.

    Add sugar, vanilla and salt and beat well.

    Stir in flour and add ingredients from other bowl.
