Braised Cabbage

  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 onion medium, sliced
  • 3 tablespoons canola oil
  • 1 gala apple sliced, hard apples are preferred
  • 1/2 green cabbage shredded
  • 1/2 cup chicken stock or vegetable stock
  • pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon fennel seeds

Directions

    Add canola oil to a hot pan with the stove on high. When the oil gets hot, add the onions and turn the stove down to medium.

    When the onions are translucent, add the apple and cook until golden (about 3 minutes).

    Next add the cabbage. Saute the cabbage for 5 minutes.

    Add the chicken stock and turn the stove down to low heat. Add pepper and fennel seeds, then simmer for 10-15 minutes.
