Braised cabbage

Ingredients
- 1/2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 small onion
- 1/2 head green cabbage, shredded
- 2 tbsp water
- 4 oz tomato paste
- 1 salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp dill, finely diced... optional
Directions

1In a cast iron or ceramic pot heat up oil and sautee the onion until soft and translucent.

2Don't brown it

3Add the shredded cabbage, and in a medium heat, cook for 2-3 minutes, mixing well.

4Add the water and reduce the heat to small medium.

5Continue cooking the cabbage until is soft, about 30-40 minutes.

6The cabbage will release its own water.

7Mix often.

8When the cabbage is soft add in the tomato paste, salt and pepper.

9The colour should be orange.

10If you would like to add some dill, this is the time to do so.

11Cook for 5-10 minutes and taste for seasoning.

12Serve hot!
