- 1 (3 1/2 lb.) broiler chicken
- 2 Tbsp. rendered chicken fat or vegetable oil
- 1 c. sliced celery
- 4 c. water
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 3 medium potatoes, pared
- 1 (9 oz.) pkg. frozen cut green beans
Directions

1Brown chicken on all sides in 5-quart Dutch oven using fat. Remove chicken to bowl.

2Add giblets to fat; brown well.

3Spoon off all fat.

4Add celery; cook 1 minute.

5Stir in water, salt and pepper.

6Return chicken to Dutch oven.

7Heat to boiling.

8Cover; simmer for 20 minutes.

9Add potatoes; cook 10 minutes.

10Add beans; cook until tender.

11To serve, debone chicken.

12Cut into chunks.
