Braised Short Ribs

  • 3 1/2 to 4 lb. lean country style ribs
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1/3 c. cooking sherry
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 onion, stuck with cloves
  • 2 cans beef broth
  • 1/3 c. flour
  • salt and pepper to taste

Directions

    Dredge ribs with flour, salt and pepper.

    Brown on all sides. Drain off fat from pan and add onion, bay leaf and beef broth. Bake about 2 to 3 hours at 350° or until fork-tender.

    Discard onion and bay leaf.
