Braised Venison Chops

- 1 to 1 1/2 c. flour
- 1 Tbsp. shortening
- 1/2 c. water
- 1 c. Burgundy or Claret wine
- 1 small can mushrooms
- 4 to 6 chops
Directions
-
1Roll chops in flour well seasoned with salt and pepper.

2Brown well in shortening.

3Add 1/2 cup water and simmer until tender. Pour 1 cup Burgundy or Claret wine over chops and cook down until almost dry.

4Remove chops and make gravy, adding 1 small can of mushrooms.

5Simmer 3 minutes.

6Pour gravy over chops before serving.
