Braised White Cabbage Recipe

- 1 lrg White cabbage head
- 1 c. Dry white wine
- 2 x Bay leaves
- 1 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1/4 tsp Freshly-grnd white pepper
- 8 Tbsp. Unsalted butter - (1 stick) cool
Directions

1Preheat oven to 450 degrees.

2Cut cabbage into quarters, remove core, and shred finely.

3Place wine and bay leaves in a large heavy saucepan.

4Bring to a boil and reduce by half.

5Add in cabbage, salt, and pepper, and bring back to a boil.

6Cover with a tight-fitting lid and transfer to oven.

7Bake 30 to 35 min, till cabbage is thoroughly limp.

8Check pot after about 15 min and stir down cabbage.

9Break butter into small pcs and stir into hot cabbage.

10Adjust seasonings and serve immediately or possibly reheat in a 350 degree oven 15 min.
