  • 1 c. bran
  • 1 c. boiling water
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. salad oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 c. buttermilk
  • 2 1/2 c. flour
  • 2 1/2 tsp. soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 c. dry bran (Kellogg's preferably)
  • 1 c. seedless raisins

Directions

    Soak 1 cup bran in boiling water.

    Mix together sugar, salad oil, eggs and buttermilk.

    Sift together flour, soda and salt; add to sugar mixture.

    Add the soaked bran, plus dry bran and raisins. Bake in well greased and floured muffin tins at 400° for 15 to 20 minutes.
