- 2 c. all-bran
- 2 c. boiling water
- 1 c. + 3 Tbsp. shortening
- 2 1/2 c. sugar
- 4 eggs
- 4 c. Bran Buds
- 6 c. flour
- 5 tsp. baking soda
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1 qt. buttermilk
Directions

1Mix all-bran and boiling water and let set.

2Cream shortening and sugar.

3Add eggs, one at a time.

4Add Bran Buds, bran mixture, flour, soda, salt and buttermilk.

5Cover and refrigerate.

6Use as needed.

7May be kept up to one month.

8Bake without stirring again.

9Bake at 450° for 20 minutes.
