  • 2 c. all-bran
  • 2 c. boiling water
  • 1 c. + 3 Tbsp. shortening
  • 2 1/2 c. sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 4 c. Bran Buds
  • 6 c. flour
  • 5 tsp. baking soda
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1 qt. buttermilk

Directions

    Mix all-bran and boiling water and let set.

    Cream shortening and sugar.

    Add eggs, one at a time.

    Add Bran Buds, bran mixture, flour, soda, salt and buttermilk.

    Cover and refrigerate.

    Use as needed.

    May be kept up to one month.

    Bake without stirring again.

    Bake at 450° for 20 minutes.
