  • 5 c. flour
  • 4 eggs
  • 5 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 c. melted margarine or butter Crisco
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 3 c. sugar
  • 1 qt. buttermilk
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 10 oz. bran flakes, Raisin Bran or fruit and fiber of any kind

Directions

    Mix flour, sugar, eggs, buttermilk, soda, salt and melted margarine or shortening.

    Add bran flakes and mix thoroughly. This makes a large amount to be kept in the refrigerator 6 to 8 weeks.

    Use as needed.

    You may add pecans, walnuts or coconut or put jelly in the middle before taking out of the oven or anything you might like, something new each morning.
