Bran Refrigerator Rolls

Ingredients

  • 1 c. shortening
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1 c. all-bran
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. boiling water
  • 2 well beaten eggs
  • 2 Tbsp. granulated yeast
  • 1 c. lukewarm water
  • approximately 6 1/2 c. flour (more or less)

Directions

    Mix yeast in lukewarm water and let set 15 minutes.

    Put shortening, sugar, all-bran and salt in a large bowl.

    Add boiling water and stir well.

    Let cool.

    Add beaten eggs and yeast.

    Add 3 to 4 cups flour.

    Beat with an electric beater until velvety. Add remaining flour to make a soft dough.

    Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 2 hours or overnight or until ready to use. Will keep 2 or 3 days.
