- 2 cup water
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1/2 tsp grated lemon zest
- 1/4 cup brandy
Directions

1In a sauce pan, combine water, sugar, and lemon zest.

2Bring mixture to a boil and continue to boil for 5 minutes.

3Strain into a sealable container, removing lemon zest.

4Allow to cool, then cover and store in refrigerator.

5When ready to use, mix in brandy.

6Brush onto cake layers before frosting.
