- 8 Slices Bread (from a small loaf, buttered
- 1\2 oz. Orange or Lemon Peel, finely chopped
- 2 oz. Currant
- 2 1\2 oz.(fluid) Double Cream
- 2 oz. Sugar
- 1\2 small Lemom Rind, grated
- 3 Eggs
- Nutmeg, freshly grated
Directions

1Preheat oven 350° Cut each slice of buttered bread in half, leaving crust on.

2Layer bread on the bottom of baking dish. Sprinkle the peel and half the currrants. Cover with another layer of buttered bread.

3Add the remaining currants. Mix milk and cream, stir in sugar and lemon. Wisk eggs in seperate bowl.

4The add them to the milk mixture. Pour over bread. Sprinkle with nutmeg. Bake for 30-40 min. Serve Warm.
