- 1 cake yeast
- 1 qt. warm water
- 4 Tbsp. sugar
- 3 tsp. salt
- 4 Tbsp. shortening
- 12 c. flour
Directions

1Measure all ingredients.

2Follow each step carefully.

3Test lukewarm water.

4Dissolve sugar, salt and yeast in the quart of warm water.

5Pour liquid into the 12 cups flour.

6Stir until it is all mixed well.

7Add shortening; stir in the dough and then knead until it is smooth and elastic to the touch.

8Place dough in a bowl and let rise.

9Knead again and let rise again.
-
10Roll into four loaves.

11Bake at 425° for 45 minutes to an hour.
