- 2 pkg. dry yeast
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 6 to 7 c. flour
- 2 c. warm water
- 1 egg
- 4 Tbsp. butter
Directions

1Mix in large bowl warm water and yeast.

2Stir until foamy; add small amount of sugar to help dissolve yeast.

3Add egg, butter, salt and remaining sugar.

4Stir well.

5Add flour and mix until dough comes free of hands.

6Let stand to rise in bowl 2 hours. Roll dough into loaves or rolls (rolling just enough to form into shape).

7If making rolls, put 3 round balls in each muffin space on pan.

8Let rise another hour, then bake.

9Yields 3 loaves.

10Bake at 420° for 25 minutes or 25 to 30 rolls at 400° for 15 minutes.
