  • 2 c. day old bread cubes
  • 2 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 2 1/2 c. milk
  • 1/2 c. chopped walnuts
  • 1/2 c. raisins
  • 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine

Directions

    Combine all ingredients, except butter, in a 1 1/2-quart casserole.

    Mix thoroughly.

    Dot with butter or margarine.

    Place casserole in pan filled 1 inch deep with hot water.

    Bake at 325° for 45 to 65 minutes or until a knife inserted halfway between center and edge of dish comes out clean.
