  • 2 c. milk
  • 1/4 c. butter
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 4 c. coarse chopped bread
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten

Directions

    Scald milk and butter.

    Pour over all other ingredients except eggs.

    Add eggs to pan with dry and liquid ingredients.

    Pour into a 1 1/2-quart casserole.

    Bake at 350° for 40 to 45 minutes, until a knife comes out clean.

    Serve warm.
