- 2 c. milk
- 4 c. coarse bread crumbs (about 6 slices bread)
- 1/4 c. butter, melted
- 1/2 c. packed brown sugar
- 1/2 c. granulated sugar
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 c. raisins
Directions

1Heat milk to scalding and pour over bread crumbs. Cool and add remaining ingredients. Mix well.

2Pour in a 1 1/2 to 2-quart casserole (will be very watery). Cook at 350° for 1 hour (until knife comes out clean; will be puffy and will sink in center as it cools).
