Ingredients
- 5 slices bread, cut in small cubes
- 4 eggs
- 4 c. milk
- 1/2 c. raisins
- 1/3 c. dates, chopped
- 1 Tbsp. vanilla
- 1/3 c. wine or brandy
- 2/3 c. sugar
- 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine, melted
Directions

1Soak raisins and dates in wine or brandy for at least 15 minutes.

2Add milk and bread.

3Bring to a boil.

4Add beaten eggs, mixed with sugar and vanilla.

5Let mixture come to boiling point. Pour into 8 x 12-inch pan, that has been sprayed with nonstick spray.

6Put this pan into a larger pan with hot water 1 1/2-inches deep.

7Pour melted butter over top and sprinkle with nutmeg.

8Bake in 375° oven until knife inserted in center comes out clean.
