- 9 slices white bread
- 1 tall can evaporated milk
- 2 c. milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 4 egg yolks
- 4 egg whites
- 1/3 c. melted butter
Directions

1Break bread into small pieces.

2Place in mixing bowl with 1 cup sugar, evaporated milk, 2 cups milk, vanilla, egg yolks and melted butter.

3Mix well.

4Pour into a 10 x 8 x 2-inch baking pan. Bake at 450° for 15 minutes. Remove and make meringue.

5Beat egg whites with 1/4 cup sugar until stiff.

6Cover pudding with meringue and bake for 3 or 4 minutes until golden.
