- 3/4 c. sugar
- 2 c. boiling water
- 1/2 c. maple syrup
- 3/4 c. raisins
- 1 c. grated cheese
- 6 slices toasted bread, buttered and cut into 1-inch pieces
Directions

1Place sugar in heavy saucepan.

2Cook over low heat until it's liquified and golden brown.

3Add water; stir until sugar is dissolved.

4Add syrup and simmer 2 to 3 minutes.

5Layer bread, raisins and half the cheese in 1 1/2-quart buttered casserole dish.

6Pour syrup mixture over bread and top with rest of cheese. Cover and bake at 350° for 30 minutes.
