- 6 slices day-old bread
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 1/2 c. moist raisins
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 3 eggs beaten
- 3 c. scalded milk
- 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
Directions

1Toast the bread and spread with the 2 Tbsp. butter while still hot.

2Arrange toast in a buttered pan and sprinkle with the raisins.

3Beat the eggs, add salt and all but 2 Tbsp. of sugar. Add the milk and stir to mix.

4Pour over the toast and let stand for 10 minutes.

5Press the toast down so that it soaks up most of the milk mixture.

6Mix the cinnamon with 2 Tbsp. of sugar and sprinkle over the top.

7Bake in a 350° oven about 25 minutes, until top is brown.

8Serves 5 or 6.
