- 2 c. grated apples
- juice of 1 lemon
- 4 c. whole-grain bread, cubed small
- 1/2 c. low-fat cottage cheese
- 1/3 c. raisins
- 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/4 c. dry skim milk
- 1 egg
- 2 c. milk
- 1/4 c. brown sugar
- 1 Tbsp. margarine
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350°.

2Mix lemon juice with apples.

3Put 1/3 of bread in greased 8 x 8-inch dish.

4Cover with 1 cup apples, 1/4 cup cottage cheese, 1/2 raisins plus some cinnamon.

5Mix milk powder, egg and sugar.

6Pour 1 cup over dish.

7Repeat bread, apples and liquid; end with bread.

8Pour last of milk mixture over top.

9Sprinkle with cinnamon and dot margarine on top.

10Let sit 20 minutes or longer.

11Bake, covered, 45 minutes.

12Let sit 10 to 20 minutes at room temperature.
