- 2 c. flour
- 3 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/3 c. plus 1 Tbsp. shortening
- 1 c. milk
Directions

1Sift flour, salt and baking powder together into medium bowl. Work in shortening while adding milk until all ingredients are formed into a smooth ball.

2Dust hands with flour, if needed, to help shape dough.

3Turn out onto floured board.

4Pat out to desired thickness (biscuits double in size when baked).

5Bake in a 425° oven for 15 to 20 minutes, or until golden brown.
