  • 6 to 8 slices bread, cut in 1/2-inch cubes
  • 1/2 to 1 lb. bacon, fried crisp and broken
  • 1/2 lb. grated Cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 c. butter, melted
  • 1/2 tsp. dry mustard
  • 5 eggs
  • 2 c. milk

Directions

    Arrange bread pieces, bacon and cheese in greased casserole. Pour melted butter over this.

    Beat eggs, salt, mustard and milk. Pour over casserole.

    Let stand 3 hours or overnight, covered in the refrigerator.

    Bake for 1 hour at 300°, uncovered.

    May pour into a 9 x 13-dish.
