  • 12 to 16 slices bread, cut in squares
  • 3/4 c. grated Cheddar cheese
  • diced ham, fried bacon or sausage, crumbled
  • 8 to 12 eggs
  • 2 c. milk
  • 1/2 c. butter, melted
  • 1/2 to 1 tsp. salt

Directions

    Put bread on bottom of buttered 9 x 13-inch casserole dish. Let the bread touch.

    Layer meat and cheese.

    Cover with another layer of bread squares.

    Mix eggs with butter, milk and salt; pour over casserole.

    Cover and refrigerate overnight.

    Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 30 to 35 minutes.
