- 1 lb. fresh broccoli or 2 (10 oz.) frozen
- 2 c. frozen pearl onions or 3 medium onions, quartered
- 2 Tbsp. flour
- 1 c. milk
- 4 Tbsp. butter or oleo
- 3 oz. cream cheese
- 2 oz. sharp Cheddar cheese, shredded (1/2 c.)
- 1 c. soft bread crumbs
Directions

1Cook broccoli and onions separately.

2Cut broccoli into 1-inch pieces.

3Melt oleo; blend in flour, salt and pepper to taste.

4Add milk and cook until thick and bubbly, stirring constantly. Reduce heat and blend in cream cheese, stirring until smooth.

5Place vegetables in 1 1/2-quart casserole.

6Pour sauce over and mix lightly. Top with Cheddar cheese.

7Cover and chill.
