- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 3/4 teaspoon seasoning salt
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder with parsley
- 6 tablespoons flour
- 2 cups milk
- 1 1/2 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup beer
- 10 ounces frozen chopped broccoli, thawed and drained
- 2 1/2 cups cheddar cheese, grated
Directions

1In a Dutch oven, melt butter and saute onion, seasoned salt, and garlic powder with parsley until onion is tender.

2Stir in flour.

3Gradually whisk in milk.

4Bring to a boil.

5Reduce heat; simmer 5 minutes or until thickened.

6Stir in chicken broth and beer.

7Return to a boil.

8Add broccoli; reduce heat and add Cheddar cheese.
