Ingredients

  • 3/4 c. onion
  • 3/4 c. celery
  • 2 c. cooked Minute rice
  • 1 c. water
  • 2 cans cream of mushroom soup
  • 4 boxes cooked broccoli spears
  • 1 (16 oz.) jar Cheez Whiz, room temperature
  • 1 stick margarine
  • 1 c. grated Cheddar cheese
  • cooked, cut up chicken (optional)
  • bacon bits (optional)

Directions

    Separately, cook rice and broccoli as directed on boxes.

    Chop onion and celery.

    Drain water from broccoli, yielding 1 cup.

    In large pot (broccoli should be cooked in), add all ingredients. Use the 1 cup water that was yielded from the cooked broccoli. Mix well.

    Bake for 1 hour, uncovered, at 350°.

    Top with Cheddar cheese and bacon bits.
