Broccoli Soup

  • 1/2 lb. broccoli
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 c. water
  • 1 c. heavy cream or half and half
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • cayenne pepper to taste
  • several dashes Velveeta cheese
  • milk

Directions

    Trim broccoli and chop in chunks.

    Microwave until tender. Cool slightly; use the water to chop up broccoli in blender.

    In saucepan, add to broccoli-water mixture, the soup, cream and spices.

    Heat slowly to simmer; a wire whisk helps to get it smooth.
