- 1 box raisins
- 3 c. water
- 6 Tbsp. vegetable shortening
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 3 1/2 c. flour
- 1 1/2 c. brown sugar
- 3 tsp. soda
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 c. chopped walnuts
Directions

1Cook raisins in 3 cups water in a pan with a tight lid for 10 minutes.

2Cool.

3Add vegetable shortening, eggs and vanilla.

4Mix together dry ingredients and add liquid mixture.

5Mix until thoroughly mixed.

6Grease and dust with flour, 6 mini loaf pans or 6 cans (like soup cans).

7Pour mixture into pans.

8Bake at 350° about 1 hour.

9Makes 6 small loaves.
