- 1 lb. beef (flank, chuck, round)
- 2 c. water
- 1 onion, sliced
- 1 c. carrots
- 2 c. potatoes, quartered
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 4 Tbsp. flour
- 2 Tbsp. fat
Directions

1Cut meat into 1 1/2-inch cubes (save fat for frying).

2Roll meat in flour seasoned with salt and pepper.

3Brown meat in hot fat.

4Add onions and lightly brown.

5Add water and simmer from 1 hour to 1 1/2 hours.

6Add vegetables and cook until tender, about 30 minutes longer. Thicken gravy with leftover flour.
