  • 1 c. butter or margarine
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 1 lb. light brown sugar
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 5 eggs
  • 3 c. sifted flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Directions

    Cream the butter, shortening and sugar.

    Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each. Add dry ingredients, milk and vanilla. Beat well. Bake in tube pan at 325° for 1 hour and 50 minutes. Remove from pan and cover with glaze while cake is still hot.
