- 1 c. butter or margarine
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1 lb. light brown sugar
- 1 c. sugar
- 5 eggs
- 3 c. sifted flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 c. milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Cream the butter, shortening and sugar.

2Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each. Add dry ingredients, milk and vanilla. Beat well. Bake in tube pan at 325° for 1 hour and 50 minutes. Remove from pan and cover with glaze while cake is still hot.
