  • 2 sticks butter
  • 1/2 c. Crisco
  • 1 lb. brown sugar
  • 1 c. white sugar
  • 5 eggs
  • 3 c. cake flour
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. chopped nuts

Directions

    Cream the butter, sugars and Crisco.

    Add eggs, one at a time. Sift flour and baking powder together.

    Add to mixture.

    Add milk, vanilla and nuts.

    Pour into a greased tube pan.

    Bake at 250° or 300° for 1 to 1 1/2 hours.
