- 3/4 c. sifted flour
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 6 Tbsp. cocoa
- 1/2 c. vegetable oil
- 1 c. sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 c. chopped nuts (optional)
Directions

1In small mixing bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder and salt.

2Preheat oven to 350°.

3Grease an 8 x 8 x 2-inch pan (double batch takes a 9 x 13 x 2-inch cake pan).

4Beat eggs.

5Add sugar, cocoa, oil, flour mixture, then nuts last.

6Pour mixture into pan.

7Bake at 350° until top has dull crust and pulls away from pan slightly, about 30 to 35 minutes.

8Cool and cut into squares.

9Makes 16 (2-inch) squares (or 32 for larger pan).
