  • 1 lb. cooked, drained sausage
  • 1 c. grated sharp Cheddar cheese
  • 2 c. milk
  • 6 eggs
  • 1/2 tsp. ground black pepper
  • 6 slices bread, cubed (crust cut off)
  • 1 tsp. dry mustard
  • 1/2 to 1 tsp. salt

    Grease an 8 x 12-inch baking dish.

    Place bread in dish.

    Add meat.

    Mix all other ingredients as follows:

    Beat eggs until fluffy; add seasoning and milk.

    Mix well.

    Add cheese.

    Pour in dish.

    Refrigerate overnight.

    Uncover and bake for 50 minutes at 350°.

    Will puff, then fall a little after removing from oven. Make half for a small family.
