Ingredients

  • 1 (3 to 4 lb.) stewing chicken
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 3 medium potatoes
  • 1 large onion
  • 1 c. green lima beans
  • 1 c. canned tomatoes (5 to 6 fresh)
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 c. corn
  • 1 Tbsp. catsup or Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 Tbsp. butter

Directions

    Cut chicken into pieces.

    Cover with water and salt, simmer about 45 minutes.

    Add sliced potatoes, sliced onion, beans, tomatoes and sugar.

    Cook for 45 minutes or until beans and potatoes are tender.

    Remove bones from chicken, add corn, cook for 10 minutes.

    Season to taste and add catsup and butter; stir well.
