  • 3 Tbsp. butter
  • 3 whole cloves
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. Burgundy wine

Directions

Heat butter in skillet. Add onions, tossing them about with a wooden spoon until rings are coated with butter.
  4. 4
Add cloves and salt. Continue to cook over low heat until onions just start to brown. Add wine. Cover pan and simmer about 15 minutes.
  5. 5
Onions should be slightly crisp but tender.
  6. 6
Remove cover and cook until wine is reduced to a glaze. Serve at once. Makes 6 to 8 servings.
