   Mix margarine and sugar well.

   Continue mixing, adding one egg at a time.

   Add vanilla, then add flour and soda gradually.

   Mix well.

   Spread 1/2 of dough in cookie sheet.

   Spoon cherries over dough, then spoon rest of dough on top (11 1/2 x 15-inch cookie sheet).

   Bake at 350° for 30 to 35 minutes, or until golden brown.
